Bismillah. The English Translation of the Qur'an by T.B. Irving (Al-Hajj Ta'lim Ali) is a new translation first published in 1991. It is translated in contemporary American English for young English speaking Muslim's and non-Muslims. The most striking features of this translation are three: 1) it is translated in easy English. 2) it has a brief introduction about each Surah (chapter) before the beginning of that Surah. 3) its Table of contents, which mentions almost all important topics of each Surah of the Qur'an. So, the reader can easily understand the important points of each Surah at the beginning. The pitfall's are- 1)one can not easily find a specific Qur'anic Verse through the reference number, as the translation doesn't mention each & every verse number of a Surah. instead of that they uses verse number 5, 10, 15 etc, that is after every 5 verses (in most of the surah's). 2) it is lacking of an Index.
